“Leaving this younger life behind was not in any plans I ever made. I was good here in a young boy’s life. I remember falling out of a tree, landing on my feet. Somehow that was a bittersweet moment. I did not ask to leave that tree. I did not ask to leave that life behind. Yet walking away meant leaving something behind for sure. Just the same, a new life was an unexpected welcome for a boy like me. Things would change in a good way. My new life was to become different. My path of adventure makes me a partner to many a new responsibility. “
